A Commercial Pilot basically flies aircraft carrying passenger or cargo
. They are the captains in charge, who are responsible for the
safety of the crew and passengers/cargo.
Courses/Training
Training for a pilot is to ensure physical fitness according to the standards
prescribed by the Central Medical Establishment at New Delhi. A student pilot
licence (SPL) is obtained fro m a government sponsored flying club in the
country. The minimum eligibility for the SPL is passing the matriculation
examination. One must acquire a private pilot licence (PPL) before permitted
to start flying. The candidate’s medical fitness has to be declared by the
Armed Forces Central Medical Establishment (AFCME). A Commercial pilot licence
(CPL) can be obtained only after acquiring a PPL.
Country’s premier pilot school is the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi,

and Maths, Current Indian PPL and 60 hrs of flying experience including 30 hrs
solo in the last 3 years. Admission is on the basis of written test in
Aviation subjects (PPL Standards) and Reasoning Test. IGRUA provides the best
theoretical and practical training. A number of CPL holders from IGRUA are
employed with Indian Airlines, Air India, state governments and private
operators.
