Interior Design
and Decoration
The Interior Decorator merely advises, chooses and then assembles the choice
of furniture and furnishing and colour schemes . They advise customers or
clients on the right choice of items needed to furnish a room/office/home
along with colour schemes, matching wall paper and curtains sketching plans
for room decoration or advising on suitable fabrics for specific furnishing
purposes.
Course/Training
Professional courses in interior decoration or interior design and decoration
are offered at the various state polytechnics for which the minimum eligibility
is usually plus two or equivalent but also may be class X. The duration of the
course may vary between two to four years. At the School of Interior Design,
Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) Kasturbhai Lalbhai
Campus, University Road. Ahmedabad a five year professional programme in
interior design is offered.
