Journalism is popularly referred to as the mother of all media. A journalist
is a person who practices the profession of journalism. A journalist may work
for a local newspaper, national daily glossy magazine professional journal
trade paper or in radio or television.
Course/Training
Training in journalism is available at about 20 universities in the country.
Most of the courses in journalism are postgraduate diploma or degree course of
one to two years’ duration for which graduates are eligible. Universities like
the University of Delhi, University of Mumbai are among those who are offering
undergraduate degree courses.
