Photography today is a vast industry. Photography careers range from
commercial to advertising and portraiture to journalism. With the advent of
computers, software and digital devices, many new types of photography careers
have emerged along with the need for innovative and creative pictures.
Course/Training
Professional courses in photography vary in duration from three months to four
years. There are certificate courses and diploma courses available at
polytechnics, universities, Industrial Training Institutes (it is) and in many
private institutes set up by established professionals. Photography is a part of
the course in mass communication (Journalism and electronic media training) and
is offered as a branch of specialization in most art colleges in 4 yr BFA
(Bachelor of Fine Arts ) programme.
